Strategy, facilitation and recruitment for leading peacebuilding organisation
I have worked with Crisis Action for over a decade, supporting communications, strategy and recruitment. I’ve helped with planning and implementation of campaigns on a wide range of conflicts and crises – from Syria to Sudan, to Israel & Palestine and the Central African Republic. I’ve written a number of their Annual Reports, a key document for an organisation that deliberately has a very low-public profile. I’ve also facilitated a couple of their Senior Management Team meetings and run a communications training session with the Board.
I’ve worked with them to recruit and develop their senior communications staff – sitting on interview panels, designing job descriptions, and mentoring incumbents. I deeply admire their model of low-ego coalition building and their commitment to pursuing change in some of the toughest of situations.
“For over a decade Amy has been our ‘go to’ when we’ve needed guidance on our communications. She’s helped us define what we need and find the people to staff it. She’s supported successive recruitments and mentored some of our hires. Alongside this, she’s facilitated sessions for the SMT and the Board. We work with her both because of her exceptional strategic communications capabilities and also because she is a trusted friend and adept facilitator. She poses tough questions and helps generate good answers. She is wise, astute and experienced”
